Many 100% cotton garments will shrink somewhat in subsequent washings, such as jeans, but they will stretch back out on wearing. A lot of these knitted fabrics are produced at Karur and Ludhiana. You should find similar fabric there if not the exact same.

Jeans tend to shrink when washed and when worn they expand.
