When I began waist training, I was ALWAYS working out in them. Elastic waist/drawstring pants are pants that can be pulled easily over and secured over the waist by stretchable elastic or drawstring. Benefit of using elastic in pants is that it is very easy to wear and pull off(Generally used in kids wear as well as leisure wear). It is secured firmly around your waist as the elastic stretches around your waist. Sometimes it can hurt you in the beginning when elastic is too tight. Drawstring is a string that runs in the inner side of waistband with two loose ends in the front. These loose ends can be tied in a knot for securing it on the position. You can easily control the waist size of these trousers. You can keep it loose or tight depending upon the comfort level that you require.
